Air Techniques Introduces Acadia

The Acadia Amalgam Separator from Air Techniques combines safety and convenience to remove amalgam and hard metals from wastewater.

Air Techniques introduces its new Acadia Amalgam Separator, a safe and eco-friendly filtration system for removing amalgam and other hard metals from office wastewater. Conveniently available in a single sized model, Acadia supports up to 10 operatories and works in-line with any dental evacuation system.

According to the manufacturer, Acadia meets ISO 11143 efficiency standards, ensuring that the dental practice using the system will be in full compliance with all American and Canadian regulations. An inlet filter ensures a smooth and continuous filtration process—all particles larger than 5mm are filtered out, never clogging or causing loss of suction.

The system’s translucent container allows staff to see the fill line indicating when it’s time to change the filter. In addition, Acadia Alert is a unique accessory featuring LED indicators and an audible alarm that activates when the filter cartridge is at 90% capacity. Recommended to be changed annually, the 4-stage filter easily twists on and off making replacement simple.

Acadia is easily installed in the utility room or in between the operatory and the utility room. As a wall-mounted or free-standing unit, it can be used with wet or dry vacuums and no additional electricity, wires, or plumbing are needed. —Bob Alaburda
