Multipurpose ACP treatment gel and toothpaste help prevent caries, gingivitis, and hypersensitivity

Having developed an innovative formulation of stannous fluoride optimized with remineralizing calcium and phosphate ions, Premier Dental Products recently launched Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel and Enamelon Fluoride Toothpaste. Together, they?re key components of an effective home-care regime to not only prevent caries and gingivitis, but also to build increasing protection against hypersensitivity caused by temperature, acids and sweets, and contact. Both the gel and the toothpaste also help interfere with the harmful effects of plaque.

Enamelon is a new standard of preventive care?a safe and effective alternative to 5000 ppm F toothpastes and remineralizing pastes.

Efficacy, Versatility, and Safety

Containing 0.40% stannous fluoride (970 ppm F), Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel is gentle and non-abrasive, making it suitable for daily home use. The patent-pending formula uses calcium and phosphate ions to maximize fluoride uptake to teeth.

Additionally, it is the first formula to combine the protective properties of the stannous ion with the remineralizing potential of amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) technology. Research demonstrates that available ACP on the enamel can prevent damaging erosion by stimulating remineralization of tooth structure.1-3 The saliva-stimulating gel helps to form loosely bound calcium fluoride reservoirs?a vital source of remineralizing ions in the presence of an acid challenge. The release of these ions helps to both promote remineralization and inhibit demineralization. For more protection with less fluoride exposure, Enamelon Preventive Treatment gel has demonstrated (in in vitro testing) to reduce enamel solubility by as much as 3 times compared with 5000 ppm F toothpaste with TCP.4

More Protection, Easy Compliance

With 0.45% stannous fluoride, Enamelon Fluoride Toothpaste contains the same clinically proven active ingredients found in the non-abrasive gel, but in an 1150 ppm F formulation with a mild abrasive for everyday cleaning. The proprietary fluoride, calcium, and phosphate formula of Enamelon Fluoride Toothpaste provides more than twice the fluoride uptake than over-the-counter dentifrices.

Patient-Friendly Chemistry

Containing no sodium lauryl sulfate, both the gel and the toothpaste create a pleasant patient experience for enhanced compliance. They incorporate Ultramulsion, a patented, saliva-soluble ingredient. Ultramulsion creates a long-lasting coating that moisturizes and soothes tissues, improves therapeutic performance by increasing substantivity, helps prevent staining and provides a great mouth-feel after use. Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel and Enamelon Fluoride Toothpaste also contain the natural herb spilanthes?commonly called the toothache plant by herbalists. Spilanthes encourages salivary flow, heightens flavor, and enables the natural protective properties of the patient?s saliva to maintain equilibrium. Additionally, it creates a tingling sensation for a refreshing and revitalizing clean finish. Finally, both are gluten- and dye-free.

Dispense with Confidence

Enamelon can be safely dispensed to the practice?s entire patient population for daily long-term use. The gel provides more than twice the beneficial fluoride uptake with only 1/5 the amount contained in 5000 ppm fluoride toothpastes?a pea-sized amount (0.25 g) of Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel contains 0.24 mg of fluoride, while the same about of 5000 ppm F toothpaste has 1.25 mg.

Incidentally, studies demonstrate that people commonly use much more than the recommended dose of toothpaste.7 Enamelon products are supplied in tubes with reduced-sized orifices to allow precise control of dispensing amounts. This is especially useful for parents and caregivers, helping them dispense the recommended 0.125-g ?smear? for infants and toddlers and 0.25-g ?pea? for children 3 to 6 years of age.

Practice Builder

Enamelon?s three-pronged effect?preventing caries, preventing gingivitis, and treating hypersentivity?makes it suitable for a wide swath of patients with conditions of various causes.

Enamelon Preventive Treatment Gel and Enamelon Fluoride Toothpaste are available for professional dispensing and sale in the dental office. The Clean Mint gel comes in 4-oz tubes in cases of 12. A 3/4-oz bonus tube of toothpaste accompanies each tube of gel.

The Mint Breeze toothpaste comes in 4.3-oz tubes (12 in a case) or in 3/4-oz tubes (24 to a case). Offering patients a gluten-free, low abrasion, easy-to-use option that fights caries and gingivitis, builds cumulative protection against sensitivity, strengthens enamel with maximum fluoride uptake, and promotes remineralization while inhibiting demineralization can only enhance patient satisfaction and trust.
