Impregum Soft Polyether Impression Materials

3M ESPE?s Impregum Soft polyether impression materials reduce working and setting time, decreasing chairtime and enhancing patient comfort.

With excellent flow properties, more forgiving ?snap-set? behavior, and less rigidity for easier removal, Impregum Soft Polyether Impression Materials has become known among many dentists as their choice for more accurate impressions?even in the most challenging conditions.

Clinical Characteristics

Impression materials must meet certain requirements including hydrophilicity, flowability, and dimensional accuracy, to accurately reproduce accurate preparations in the mouth?s moist environment. 3M ESPE Impregum Soft Polyether Impression Materials are hydrophilic by the nature of their chemical makeup. This property ensures that from the time the polyether is mixed until it sets, it is characterized by its tendency to favor moist surfaces and achieve precise reproductions.

The Proof is in the Evaluation

3M ESPE internal testing has demonstrated the excellent flowability of their polyether impression materials, and an independent Dental Product Shopper evaluation of Impregum Soft Polyether Impression Materials backed those findings. In the Dental Product Shopper evaluation, which included 10 evaluators, flow around the tooth while syringing was rated as excellent by 4 evaluators and as very good or good by 6.

Numerous studies also have shown Impregum Soft polyether impression materials provide particularly good reproduction of details, especially under clinically relevant moist conditions. In the same Dental Product Shopper evaluation, the evaluators were asked to rate overall impression detail, as well as detail reproduction in moist and dry conditions. Impression detail was rated as excellent by 7 evaluators and as very good to good by 3. One evaluator ?took impressions for many different types of restorations with excellent results in all completed cases.?

Dentists in the Dental Product Shopper evaluation who used vinyl polysiloxane (VPS) impression material have also been shown to be very favorable toward Impregum Penta Soft Quick Step fast-setting polyether impression material, with many noting that precision and accuracy of fit of the restorations were improved compared with their current material. Additionally, VPS users indicated that the detail reproduction of Impregum Penta Soft Quick Step impressions in the presence of blood/saliva was improved compared to their current material.

The Choice for Many Dentists

Dental professionals continue to choose Impregum Soft polyether impression materials to enhance the quality of their impressions and increase efficiency in their practices by reducing retakes, remakes, and adjustments.

In 2004, with the launch of the Impregum Penta Soft Quick Step polyether line, 3M ESPE answered the market demand for a fast-setting polyether impression material especially suited for 1- and 2-unit cases. And even more recently, 3M introduced their Pentamix 3 Automatic Mixing Unit, which dispenses completely homogeneous mix at the push of a button.

These innovations, along with others in the Impregum line, make these materials a tried and true choice for dentists.
