It all started with star power, as President Bill Clinton delivered the keynote to an eager audience who packed the room early Thursday morning. NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabar signed autographs at Glove Club, and the usual cadre of Key Opinion Leaders could be found giving lectures and checking out what was on offer at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Dental manufacturers and service providers lined the exhibit hall, with a few getting into the Halloween spirit, donning costumes and decorating their booth. DENTSPLY Caulk had a huge, custom monster costume made for the show to help promote their new Aquasil Ultra Cordless. One company's staff was sporting vampire costumes, and DentalEZ Group showed off their NuSimplicity chair under an array of cobwebs, spiders, and jack-o-lanterns.
Dental Product Shopper was on the scene with a booth, as well, as we eagerly met new dentists from all over the world and introduced them to our evaluator program. Of course, we took advantage of our time in New Orleans to dive headfirst into some gumbo and jambalaya along the way.
We can't wait for the ADA Annual Session in San Antonio next year with President George W. Bush delivering the keynote. And we're sure that will just be the start of another great show!
