It all starts here. Healthy mouth. Healthy body.
Join dental professionals from more than 70 countries who are celebrating the 2016 World Oral Health Day (WOHD) on March 20th, and tell the world that good oral health is key to overall health.
Organized by the World Dental Federation (FDI) and supported by the ADA, WOHD is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene.
According to the FDI, 90% of the world’s population will suffer from oral diseases in their lifetime. Many of those diseases can be avoided, the FDI says, with increased support from governments, health associations, and societies along with funding for prevention, detection, and treatment programs.
With this year’s theme - It all starts here. Healthy mouth. Healthy body. - WOHD strives to get everyone across the globe to recognize the impact their oral health has on their overall physical health and well-being.
