Treating homeless patients, HIV patients, very young children, and adult patients that had never been to the dentist was the daily norm. The kind of dentistry we preformed was more valuable than any compensation gained by the clinics themselves. It's this mentality that allows me to go out of my way to help others, regardless of the monetary reward.
In my private dental practice, I provide the same level of care as I did working in the clinics. We inform patients of their conditions, give them options for treatment, review the pros and cons of each option, and then make decisions together (the patient and myself) on the treatments best suited for them. Whether the patient has dental insurance or not, extracting a painful tooth, fixing a chipped front tooth, or creating a lost smile, we treat all of our patients the same.
