This month I would like to discuss the Polaris intraoral camera system. I have had the opportunity to use this camera in my office for the past month. This camera packs a great punch. It has a USB direct interface that integrates with all the major dental management software programs. The camera turns on when you lift it from the cradle that fits any extra hand piece dock easily.
The image quality is good with the ability to record video as well. The camera lens can be rotated to the left or right to aid in image capture as the capture and save buttons are located on the camera handle. While the camera handle is slightly bigger than the system I am currently using, I am able to eliminate the video component box that takes up valuable operatory space. Ease of use, lightweight, and good picture quality all make the Polaris intraoral camera worth looking into.
