Sirona Unveils CEREC Software 4.0

More than a just a cosmetic upgrade, CEREC Software 4.0 introduces a ton of new features to make designing a restoration even easier.

The new CEREC Software 4.0 platform introduces a significant reengineering of the software, delivering users an improved experience from acquisition to milling. The most pronounced improvement is the ability for clinicians to work on many different restorations at the same time. Restorations can also be designed in different design modes for increased flexibility. Design tools can now be executed directly on the tooth to provide greater control and a more natural, hands-on feel to the design process.

With CEREC Software 4.0, clinicians will experience an improved user interface. The new “Intuitive Workflow” feature lets dentists know exactly where they are in the design process and informs them as to what step comes next. This enables switching from one design step to the next without the linear limitations of “Next” and “Undo.” Also, going back to revisit a different design step does not undo the work already completed.

CEREC Software 4.0 will also be available for CEREC 3 acquisition unit users in early 2012, but until that time, there is a trade-up program for users to easily and inexpensively upgrade to CEREC Software 4.0. —Bob Alaburda
