DIGITAL SPLINTS

Great Lakes Orthodontics’ digital splint fabrication process produces smooth, flat occlusal splints using 3D laser scanning, along with custom designed software and state-of-the-art machining.

Software creates 3D splints with even centric contacts and anterior ramps with canine guidance. Models are acrylic-covered, then machine-trimmed with an accuracy of less than .001 in. There is no cusp indexing on the splint, which is impossible to eliminate using traditional methods.
