Ease of Use

Ease of use was rated as very important for all 9 of the dentists and hygienists who participated in this evaluation. When the evaluators were then asked to rate the E-Z Jett Cassettes on ease of use, 7 rated it as excellent to very good and 2 rated it as good to fair. One dentist evaluator commented that he found it “a little inconvenient having to open [the cassette] from both sides.” Two evaluators noted that they had some difficulty closing the cassette with mirrors inside. One of the hygienist evaluators described the E-Z Jett Cassette as “super easy to use—nice to have all instruments in one tray.”

Chairside Accessibility

Easy access to instruments at the chairside can improve procedure efficiency. All of the evaluators said that chairside accessibility is important when purchasing an instrument cassette.
When the evaluators were asked to rate the chairside accessibility of the E-Z Jett Cassette, 6 evaluators rated it as excellent and 3 rated it as very good. One evaluator said of the chairside accessibility, “Neat, clean, and easy to open.” Another evaluator said, “Very nice!”

Price

The E-Z Jett Cassette is priced at $15.99. When the evaluators were asked to rate the price of the E-Z Jett Cassette, 5 rated it as excellent and 4 rated it as very good. One of the dentist evaluators said of the price, “Attractive, and it seems like they will hold up exceptionally well for the cost.” Another evaluator said, “The price is very good.” This same evaluator rated her overall satisfaction with the E-Z Jett Cassette as excellent.

Thorough Cleaning

As would be expected, the ability to allow instruments to be thoroughly cleaned was rated as very important to all of the evaluators when purchasing an instrument cassette. When the evaluators were asked to rate the E-Z Jett Cassette on its ability to allow instruments to be thoroughly cleaned, 6 rated it as excellent and 3 rated it as good. One evaluator said of the E-Z Jett Cassettes, “there is plenty of space around instruments for the solution to move.” Another evaluator said, “The placement of instruments in the tray allows excess debris to be removed efficiently.” A third evaluator said, “I have 5 to 7 instruments in my pack. The assistants love the [E-Z Jett Cassettes] because they do not poke their fingers as they go in the bag. Instruments come clean and they no longer have to bundle them together…safer.”

Instrument Longevity

Using cassettes to sterilize instruments can increase their longevity by limiting the contact between instruments. When the evaluators were asked to rate the E-Z Jett on its ability to increase instrument longevity, 5 rated it as excellent, 3 rated it as very good, and 1 rated it as good. “Oh my goodness,” said one evaluator. “Every time the dentist would open [sterilization] bags by pushing the tips against the bag, I would cringe. [With the E-Z Jett Cassettes], no longer an issue.” Another evaluator said, “The tray keeps the instruments in place to reduce banging into one another.”

Overall Satisfaction

When asked to give their overall satisfaction rating for the E-Z Jett Cassettes, 7 rated them as excellent to good and 2 rated them as fair. One evaluator described the cassettes as “much more convenient than loose instruments.” Another evaluator said, “I love the way it all stays in place [in the sterilizer].”
