ET III SA Dental Implant
The ET III SA implant is backed by extensive research and development based on other implants in the HIOSSEN line.
HIOSSEN’s ET III SA implant features a sand blasted and acid etched (SA) surface treatment that uses the pluri-potential capacity of osteoblastic cells to shorten bone healing time and improve secondary attachment force. The SA surface also provides convenient placement and initial stability because of its optimal body design.
Six evaluators with a combined 101 years of experience participated in Dental Product Shopper’s evaluation of the ET III SA implant. They rated several features, including ease of placement, stability, versatility, bone apposition, and overall satisfaction with the product.
Ease of Use
According to HIOSSEN, the optimal body design of the ET III’s SA surface offers convenient placement and initial stability.
When asked to rate the ease of use of ET III SA, 5 evaluators rated it as excellent and 1 rated it as very good. An evaluator with 7 years of experience said, “Surgically, it is the smoothest and easiest system to use compared to others I have worked with.” An evaluator with 3 years of experience said, “[It] makes the surgery very predictable without perforating membrane or the nerve.”
According to the manufacturer, ET III SA implants provide dental professionals with enhanced initial stability, which yields optimal conditions for immediate and early loading.
When the 6 evaluators were asked to rate the stability of ET III SA, all rated it as excellent. A dentist who practices in Schaumburg, IL, said, “[The ET III SA provides] much better initial stability compared to [another implant].” When asked if he would recommend ET III SA to colleagues or contacts within the dental profession, this evaluator said “definitely.”
HIOSSEN describes ET III SA implants as having a corkscrew thread design that provides both self-tapping and path-correcting ability. The open thread design prevents bone necrosis and the apical design of the ET III implants provides for increased initial stability at fresh extraction sockets.
Three evaluators rated the versatility of ET III SA as excellent, 2 rated it as very good, and 1 evaluator did not rate this feature. A clinician with 11 years of experience said, “Because of its ease of use and diverse prosthetic options, it’s a great teaching system.”
When asked what he would like to see improved about ET III SA, an evaluator from Cherry Hill, NJ, said, “Surgical osteotomy drills have a laser mark at length and also a physical stop. I would like them to coincide with the same length.” This evaluator went on to rate ET III SA’s versatility as “very good.”
HIOSSEN says the ET III SA’s surface treatment results in a shortened bone healing time, an early cell response, and an improved secondary attachment force. In addition, it allows for the possibility of early loading after 6 weeks of placement.
When the 6 evaluators were asked to rate ET III SA’s bone apposition, 4 rated it as excellent, 1 rated it as very good, and 1 rated it as good. A dentist with 7 years of experience in clinical practice said, “The implants just seem to stick to the bone providing high torque values and excellent ISQ numbers.” When asked if he would recommend ET III SA to colleagues or contacts within the dental profession, this evaluator said “definitely.”
All of the evaluators said they would definitely recommend the ET III SA to their colleagues. All 6 of the evaluators also said they definitely or probably would purchase the ET III SA in the future.
Evaluators were asked to rate their overall satisfaction with ET III SA. Four evaluators rated it as excellent and 2 rated it as very good. An evaluator with 31 years of experience summarized his evaluation of ET III SA by saying, “I have had great success with these implants.” Another evaluator with 3 years in practice added, “[The] ET III SA system is by far the best and the easiest system to use in the market.”
