Miele offers a range of specialized baskets and inserts designed for different instruments, which means that the G 7881 can be customized to the needs of individual practices. Ease of Use

Instruments are placed into cassettes, which are then loaded directly into the machine. After the cycle is complete, the instruments can be inspected, placed in sterilization pouches, then properly sealed and processed through the sterilizer.
When asked to rate the G 7881 on ease of use, 5 evaluators rated it as excellent and 2 rated it as very good. One evaluator said, “We use our thermal disinfector at the end of every day prior to sterilization of our instruments, and it is very easy to use.” Another evaluator commented, “Ease of use and staff reaction are the most important attributes.”
Improved Productivity

When asked if improved productivity is a factor when purchasing a dental disinfector, 5 evaluators said it was very important to them and 2 said it was important. The evaluators were then asked to rate the Miele G 7881 Dental Washer Disinfector on improved productivity. Five rated it as excellent, 1 rated it as very good, and 1 rated it as good. One evaluator noted that “it takes a long time for the cycle to run, so it takes some office coordination to make sure we don’t need an instrument that is being disinfected.” Another evaluator said, “it is easy to use and has helped improve our efficiency.”
Capacity
The G 7881 Dental Washer Disinfector has a 2-level chamber to accommodate both baskets and inserts. In addition, it can hold a combination of cassettes and a variety of hinged instruments in open mesh trays. This increased capacity, according to Miele, allows practices to provide more procedures because more cassettes can be processed in a day.

Staff Reaction
Five evaluators said that staff reaction is important or very important to them when considering the purchase of a dental disinfector. When asked to rate patient reaction to the Miele G 7881, 4 rated it as excellent, 2 rated it as very good, and 1 rated it as good. One evaluator said, “My staff loves having the disinfector instead of a giant ultrasonic tank full of bacteria.” Another evaluator noted that because the Miele unit is simple to operate and staff can “load it, run it, and walk away, they have more time for other tasks…and they are happy. And a happy staff makes for an easy day.”
Overall Satisfaction
Six evaluators said they would definitely purchase the G 7881 in the future and recommend it to their colleagues. When asked to give their overall satisfaction ranking for the G 7881, 4 rated it as excellent, 2 rated it as very good, and 1 rated it as good. One evaluator said, “While this unit doesn’t replace our ultrasonic cleaner completely, we have found it to be much safer and effective for most all of our disinfecting needs.” Another evaluator said, “I highly recommend it.” A third evaluator said, “I’ve heard other dental colleagues comment that it is nothing more than a dishwasher, but it is much more effective than that and gives us all peace of mind that the instruments are being processed properly. In addition, we don’t have a giant, unattractive tub of dirty water sitting on the counter. Our sterilization center is front and center for patients to see, and they all comment on how clean we keep everything.”
