Biolase debuts its personal dental soft-tissue diode laser, iLase. This laser packs a fully integrated system, merging the laser, electrical power, and all controls into a single handpiece.
The iLase offers a number of unique features that are designed to provide the clinician with greater convenience. The compact and lightweight unit sports an original finger switch design that eliminates the need for an extra foot pedal, and its rechargeable battery precludes the need for extra cords. The iLase contains no other external connections of any kind, making it a simple addition to any office.
Providing up to 5 watts of peak output power, the iLase is very easy to use, with factory-loaded settings for most popular procedures and an intuitive user interface. The unit also includes Biolase’s exclusive ComfortPulse technology for less patient discomfort. The iLase is ideal for troughing for crown impressions (instead of packing cord), gingivectomies, sulcular debridement, and other soft-tissue procedures.
