The latest addition to the 3M ESPE MDI implant family is the 2.1 mm diameter implant with increased surface area with the same standard thread design as the 1.8 mm implant, enabling effective auto-advancement in dense bone. The original 1.8 mm diameter standard thread (for dense bone) and 2.4 mm MAX thread (for softer bone) complete the line. All 3 diameters are offered in lengths of 10 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm, and 18 mm with classic or collared implant designs available to accommodate various softtissue depths. Classic is the better choice for gingival tissue thinner than 2.5 mm, while collared is best for 2.5 mm or greater. 3M ESPE
