Use of TheraCal LC Liner for Crown Preparation

A 35-year-old female patient presented with hot/cold sensitivity and pain associated with chewing on tooth No. 30. The patient's complaint was that the pain was worse in the morning, was present all day, and lasted for 10 to 15 minutes after stimulation. The pain was present for about 2 months and had stayed about the same. She avoided chewing on this side. The patient's radiographs revealed some decay beneath the restoration. The restoration was also very close to the mesial pulp horn. A very strong possible diagnosis was cracked tooth syndrome. I also suggested to the patient that irreversible...

Good dependable handpiece
Good handpiece. Smooth sleek design. No issues holding it. Not a bulky design. So fits well in patient’s mouth. Only issue, sometimes had issue with water output.

I have been using Midwest Tradition handpieces for almost 30 years. They are well built and reasonably priced. With proper maintenance, the cartridges can last 2-3 years. The fiber optics degrade during this time, but can be refurbished. With the use of an Isolite or headlamps the fiber optics have become unnecessary.

Review Handpieces
I have been using Midwest handpieces since 1989 and have been very satisfied with the products. I have never had any major problems with the handpieces since i purchased them. I still have my Midwest traditional and Midwest Rhino from Dental School. I have used and are currently using other handpieces and am just not as satisfied as I am with the Midwest. It has a smoothness about the handpiece and the grip is very comfortable for my hands.

Midwest Tradition H.S. Handpiece
I've been working with my dentist for 17 years & this is the only brand of handpiece we've ever used. We did try Sirona but that was several years ago & there was just too much "gear" you had to hook up to use the air-driven handpieces. We haven't had any recurring issues with this. I like that it's smaller than a lot of the other handpieces especially for those patients who have limited opening! The only thing I would recommend would be to make it quieter :)

Midwest Traditional Highspeed
A real work horse. Have had other handpieces come and go, but have usually fallen back on Midwest. Love the latch system also!

Old Reliable Midwest Tradition
I have a bunch of these handieces for years and they have proven to be an old reliable friend. They have sufficient torque to get the job done. And they are easily maintainable. It is easy to replace the turbine when necessary. The flip top handle allows for ease of bur changing during a procedure. And the 360 degree swivel base allows for freedom of movement. All in all, a reliable product.

Midwest Tradition
I have had both Midwest Quiet Air and Tradition handpieces for over 30 years. They are workhorses. We occasionally replace turbines. They just keep on working
