Patterson Dental describes EagleSoft as the most adaptive and technologically advanced dental software system on the market. The system is integrated so that the front office, clinical, and imaging procedures operate using a single patient record.
Practice Efficiency, Productivity, and Profitability
The level of integration of the EagleSoft practice management system is intended to increase practice efficiency, productivity, and profitability. When the dentist evaluators were asked to rate EagleSoft on improved practice efficiency, they rated it as excellent to very good. One of the evaluators said, “EagleSoft is good in [the areas of practice efficiency, productivity, and profitability]. For example, inoperatory digital radiography increases diagnosis significantly.” This evaluator went on to say, “Walking out a patient in-operatory reduces billing errors. Charting and writing notes in the digital chart make information available everywhere in the office and encourages more consistency between clinical and business staff.”
Increased Efficiency of Daily Tasks
Some of the tools that are included with the EagleSoft practice management system include EagleSoft Today, a desktop digital day planner, and SmartDoc, a document manager that enables the user to have total access to all information within the practice. In addition, medical histories, payment plans, patient informed consent, and transmit claims can be captured and stored.
The evaluators were asked to rate EagleSoft on how it has increased their efficiency of daily tasks. Five of the evaluators rated it excellent to very good and 1 rated it as good. When asked to comment on this aspect of the software, 1 evaluator said, “Great stuff.” Another evaluator comments, “This is very good.” He went on to say that if the processes could be more Windows-based it would be even better.
The manufacturer states that EagleSoft delivers a comprehensive integration package with leading digital products. The evaluators were asked to rate EagleSoft on the level of integration within the office. Four rated it as excellent and 2 rated it as very good. When asked to comment about the level of integration in his office, one evaluator said, “This is superb. Everyone can access and do the tasks we allow them to do from any terminal in the office. It works flawlessly.”
EagleSoft provides a variety of support options. One option is FAQ, which allows users access to a searchable database to answer their questions at anytime.
E-service is a customer-authorized internet support tool that allows users to send in the applicable system information and receive timely support. Another option is a Service Club Membership that includes unlimited toll-free telephone support, product updates, a bimonthly newsletter, and an e-newsletter.
Two online support tools are also available. Live Help allows customers to interact in real time with support specialists at the Patterson Technology Center, and Remote Support enables customers to share their desktop with a Patterson support specialist for live assistance. When the evaluators were asked to rate EagleSoft on the technical support they receive, 3 rated it as excellent and 3 rated it as very good. One evaluator said that the technical support he has received “has been quite good.” Another evaluator commented that “Patterson is great. They respond quickly with talented help if you need help. The phone support is quite good also.” A third evaluator noted that occasionally there is a misunderstanding “as to our inquiries with the live online support.”
When the evaluators were asked if they would recommend EagleSoft to their colleagues within the dental profession, 5 said definitely and 1 said probably. They all also said they would definitely or probably purchase the system in the future. When the evaluators were asked to give their overall satisfaction rating for EagleSoft, 4 rated it as excellent and 2 rated it as very good. One evaluator commented on the electronic business tools, saying, “Electronic claims, card swipers, and digital signature pads are wonderful. These are all invaluable to our practice.” Other evaluators mentioned the price. One said the price is “superb. There is a rebate that makes this program ultra-affordable.” Another said that price is “not really applicable when you consider the value, which is tremendous.”
