The SingLED operatory light from Planmeca provides consistent illumination while using less power and generating less heat than comparable systems.
Planmeca USA announces its new SingLED Operatory Light, designed to minimize eyestrain and maximize infection control.
The light emitting diode (LED) technology provides shadow free and consistent, color-corrected illumination throughout the light pattern that reduces eye strain during long dental procedures. The SingLED Operatory Light uses a computer designed faceted reflector with a single LED that lasts 10 times longer than conventional quartz-halogen lights. The result is an operatory light that uses a fraction of the energy of a classic multi-LED system. Another benefit is that the SingLED produces none of the heat typical of a classic quartz-halogen lamp that increases patient and operating team discomfort.
The SingLED also promotes infection control by offering hygienic light handles that are removable for sterilization. The operating light can be controlled using GUI, foot control, on/off switch, or by waving a hand in front of the light, offering multiple options to minimize contamination. The light handles can also be repositioned without tools to accommodate the operator.
Besides mounting to Planmeca units, the SingLED Operatory Light can also be ceiling, cabinet, or track mounted. A mounting arm is available for adding a 15- or 17-in LCD monitor to the unitmounted compact light post.
