Product Description
Voco America, Inc introduces a fast and easy-to-apply adhesive in a new patented single-dose delivery system. Futurabond DC can be cured with light-emitting diode or halogen lights when used with light-cured composites, and can selfcure when used with core build-up materials or resin cements. This is a big advantage for applications that cannot be reached with light, such as cementing of root pins or posts or any bonding of nontranslucent indirect restorations. This universal adhesive is ideal to use with all composites, helping to reduce inventory.
The new patented, single-dose delivery system combines the proven and stable chemistry of a 2-component, self-etch bond with the ease and speed of an all-in-one system. Compared with most bottle systems, the new single-dose system overcomes the problem of evaporation of acetone or ethanol, which weakens the bond strength the longer the bottles are kept open. Nanoparticles acting as crosslinks reinforce the bond and the hybrid layer, both vital for marginal integrity. The small size of the nanofillers allows them to completely penetrate the collagen net and tubules, contributing to a high adhesion of more than 30 MPa to dentin and enamel in the lightcure mode. —Dawn Lagrosa
Futurabond DC is self-etching and needs just
35 seconds from start to finish with only 1 layer to apply. Futurabond DC works with light-, self- and
dual-cured resins without extra activator liquid. The most innovative feature is that it also works in a
self-cured mode without any light activation. A new patented single dose delivery system combines
the proven and stable chemistry of a 2 component self-etch bond with the ease and speed of an allin-
one system.
