• Provides a return on investment that goes beyond money
AN EASY-TO-USE SYSTEM WITH A TENACIOUS GRIP
I’ve used all of Garrison Dental’s ring systems in my practice. It’s the system I’ve stayed with. Of all Garrison’s various matrix products, Composi-Tight 3D XR is my favorite. In fact, it’s my go-to for interproximal composites.
The XR in the product name stands for extra retention, and the design really does tend to stay on better. It doesn’t spring off, and it doesn’t get in the way of the band or the wedge. I think I get cleaner, tighter contacts with Composi-Tight 3D XR.
The Composi-Tight 3D XR is Garrison Dental’s newest sectional matrix system. Building on their original 3D system’s strengths, they’ve introduced an enhanced Soft Face gripping technology with a Dynamic Tip Angle that maintains a tenacious grip on the different sizes and shapes of teeth.
The 3D XR ring tines on the blue pad “hook” under the wedge and secure it in place. For a lot of reasons, the Composi-Tight 3D XR works well for me in many situations. It’s ease of use, reduced finishing time, and reduction of re-dos all add up to a matrix system that meets multiple needs.
When it comes to ease of use, the Composi-Tight 3D XR has become second nature to me now. I have all of the different Garrison matrix systems in my quiver, so I can use any of them as the need arises. As we all know, one size does not fit all; that’s why there has been an evolution of the various Garrison matrix systems.
In my practice, we have the whole kit of matrix rings because what you use depends on whether it’s a pediatric situation, an adult restoration, a relatively small filling, or a big bombed-out tooth. It depends on the size of the gap between the teeth, how close they are, or which teeth we’re dealing with. Composi-Tight 3D XR is ideal for use between a canine and first bicuspid, and for malpositioned or small teeth.
The dynamics of the Soft Face tip angle of the Composi-Tight 3D XR allow it to hug the teeth more tightly, which helps eliminate some of the flash and finishing time.
I work with a microscope, so I’m very detail oriented. Usually, if there is a little bit of ash, it’s small in volume and less work to polish out. That increases efficiency because there is less finishing and polishing to do afterwards.
No Redos = ROI
My return on investment with this system is not having to re-do a lot of restorations. I’m getting good, tight contacts with good contours using Composi-Tight 3D XR.
Once in a while I’m not happy with a contact and have to touch it up, but that doesn’t happen very often. They’re done once and they’re done right.
That’s what’s so great about this system, that’s what the whole system is about. In my hands, it’s the one that works the best.
