PreviDent Dental Rinse contains 900 ppm fluoride, providing 4 times the fluoride concentrate of an over-the-counter rinse and is proven to provide up to 55% reduction in caries when used once weekly.4 PreviDent Dental Rinse is available in a Cool Mint flavor.

PreviDent Varnish

PreviDent Varnish 5% sodium fluoride varnish provides a high concentration of fluoride at the enamel and exposed dentin surface. Available in ready-to-use unit dose packaging, PreviDent Varnish sets rapidly on contact with saliva and dries transparently on teeth, resulting in patient comfort and acceptance. This product also contains xylitol, a natural sweetener.

Prevident Gel

Colgate Prevident Gel is a 1.1% neutral sodium fluoride brush-on gel designed for at-home use and provides an effective second fluoride treatment after brushing with a fluoride toothpaste. PreviDent Gel can be delivered via mouth tray for patients who have difficulty brushing, and it provides up to 91% arrestment of early root caries. According to Colgate, this product is safe for porcelain crowns and composite restorations.

Directions for Use

Patients should be directed to use flouride rinses, gels, or pastes immediately after brushing or flossing and just prior to sleep to obtain the maximum effect from topical flouride. Patients should be directed to avoid eating, drinking, or rinsing the mouth for 30 minutes after using topical flouride. Clinical data are unavailable yet on whether topical fluorides interact with other medicines or herbal supplements, so patients should be assessed on a caseby- case basis.

Dentists can tailor treatment to a patient?s individual preferences, convenience, and comfort/sensitivity levels.

Use of fluoride, which strengthens tooth enamel, has long been a recognized treatment for both children and adults as a means to fight cavities and also in relieving tooth sensitivity, and the Prevident line has long been the clinicians? choice for prescription-strength topical fluoride.
