'I'd Like to Buy the World an Electric Toothbrush'

You remember that famous Coca-Cola ad from the 1970s with the line, “I’d like to Buy the World a Coke.” I’m ready to re-write the lyrics for Dental Product Shopper: “I’d like to buy the world an electric toothbrush.”

The global electric toothbrush market is projected to expand at a combined annual growth rate of approximately 8% through 2019, according to a new study by ReportsnReports.com.

Researchers found that top vendors are capitalizing on the opportunity to garner market share and introducing technologically advanced toothbrushes suitable for different age groups. In countries with developing economies, the rise in dual-income households and the decline in number of children per household have increased the discretionary expenditure budget allotted for children. In other words, electric toothbrush manufacturers are following a strong trend in developing new product varieties for the children’s segment, and the technology is becoming pretty spiffy.
