Dental professionals looking for something new at the Greater New York Dental Meeting need only visit Planmeca at Booth 5425 to see the latest in innovative, practice-changing technology—from imaging systems to CAD/CAM. Having unveiled an array of product advancements this fall, Planmeca seeks to help dentists take their care to the next level.

So, what’s new? For starters, there’s the Planmeca Viso imaging system, which includes 2D, 3D, and optional ceph modalities, and is designed to capture outstanding images at a low patient dose. The system offers improved patient positioning, simpler field-of-view adjustments, excellent image quality, and intelligent patient movement correction to meet the demands of oral and maxillofacial surgeons and radiologists.

The Planmeca Viso includes several features unique to Planmeca, including Ultra Low Dose imaging and the Planmeca CALM feature, which analyzes and compensates for slight movements during a scan to provide improved, diagnostic quality images.

The latest in Planmeca’s advanced software suite for 2D and 3D imaging systems, Planmeca Romexis 5.2 includes a new module, the Model Analyzer, to streamline specialty workflows. The Model Analyzer allows direct capture of intraoral scans for dental model measurement, visualization, and analysis for treatment planning or future use.

For CAD/CAM users, the Planmeca PlanMill 30 S serves as an entry-level milling unit to single-visit dentistry. The 4-axis, high-speed single-spindle unit provides the same SMART software and accepts a broad range of milling materials—which has been expanded to include zirconia.

Meanwhile, the ultra-lightweight, ergonomically designed Planmeca Emerald digital intraoral scanner features a new Slim Line Tip that’s 27% thinner than the standard tip, which is ideal for patients with smaller mouths, such as children, or those with compromised dentition. Both the slim and standard tips are autoclavable.

Whether it’s the next-generation imaging systems or the improved scanning and milling capabilities, Planmeca is looking to help dentists maximize the potential of today’s technology.
