A leader has a versatile skill set and accordingly, Planmeca Viso offers 2D, 3D, and cephalometric imaging. It’s equipped with a large 25 cm x 30 cm flat-panel sensor that can capture 3 cm x 3 cm volumes up to 30 cm x 30 cm, and offers the industry’s largest single-scan volume of 30 cm x 19 cm, covering the entire maxillofacial area. Planmeca Viso offers 120 kV tube voltage for optimized image quality for challenging imaging cases, reducing artifacts and ensuring higher-contrast images.

Planmeca has aimed to improve patient comfort with Planmeca Viso’s occipital support that provides stability without compromising patient comfort. This patient positioning device also provides an unimpeded view of facial tissue.
Patient positioning is done directly from the CBCT unit’s control panel utilizing four integrated cameras and a live patient view. Users can actually see the patient live from the control panel for flexible and precise FOV positioning. The touch panel allows the user to freely select the region of interest and adjust the height and width with the touch of a finger.
Planmeca Viso is also designed to incorporate the best of Planmeca’s 3D imaging technology to produce clear, diagnostically rich images by correcting motion, noise, and distortion caused by restorations while substantially reducing patient radiation dose. With Planmeca CALM, the CBCT analyzes and compensates for patient movement during a scan to provide improved images, and virtually eliminate retakes.
Additionally, all Planmeca CBCT units offer the Planmeca Ultra Low Dose imaging protocol, which allows clinicians to acquire 3D images at significantly lower effective patient doses without a statistical reduction in image quality. The Planmeca Viso CBCT can also be equipped with Planmeca ProCeph one-shot cephalostat.
For large institutions, Planmeca Viso offers the Planmeca PlanID connectivity option, which features an integrated RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tracking system for user and patient identification.
