PANAVIA SA CEMENT Resin Cement
PANAVIA SA CEMENT is a self-adhesive, self-etch, fluoride-releasing dual-cure resin cement available in automix or hand-mix. Bond Strength
Manufacturer Description: According to the manufacturer, the high bond strength of PANAVIA SA CEMENT, in combination with the very low water absorption rate, leads to long-lasting marginal integrity.
Evaluator Feedback: All 13 evaluators agreed that initial bond strength was important or very important when deciding which cement to purchase. Two of the evaluators specifi cally mentioned ?bond strength? as the feature they liked best about the product.
Handling and Working Time
Manufacturer Description: With its automix delivery system, PANAVIA SA CEMENT can be quickly and effi ciently applied directly through the mixing tip into the restoration.
Evaluator Feedback: A New Jersey dentist said he likes best that the cement is ?Extremely easy to use with the automix tips; just mix and cement...no priming needed.? Another evaluator who has been a dentist for 24 years liked the ?ease of seating crowns? best about the product.
A dentist from Milpltas, CA, said when commenting on what he liked best about the cement, ?I used Panavia years ago. The new syringe with mixing tip is much simpler and faster to use.?
A dentist with 23 years? experience noted that the cement was ?easy to apply? and had ?little to no resistance upon seating.? When asked what he would like to see improved, this same evaluator would like the ?setting time shortened? and a ?better delivery system,? noting that the material was ?too hard to express from tube.?

Ease of Cleanup

Evaluator Feedback: Six of the 13 evaluators specifi cally mentioned ?ease of cleanup? as the feature they liked best about the product. A Redwood City, CA, dentist who rated all attributes of the cement as excellent commented, ?The fi rst time I tried PANAVIA SA, I was surprised by the ease of cleanup. It saved a good 5 minutes of my time.?
Overall Satisfaction
Seven of the 13 evaluators said they would defi nitely purchase PANAVIA SA CEMENT in the future, and 5 would probably purchase it. When asked if they would recommend the cement, 8 said defi nitely and 4 said probably.
A dentist with 10 years of experience who said he would defi nitely recommend the product to colleagues said he liked ?ease of use? best and had ?good esthetic results.? This same evaluator would like to see Kuraray offer a ?shorter tip for material savings.?
