![]() | PRODUCT FAMILYSwivel XT Hu-Friedy announces the addition of the 25K Swivel XT Ultrasonic Insert Line, a thinner, stronger insert that can reach and remove tenacious debris from interproximal and subgingival areas. The Swivel XT was originally introduced in December 2010, in a 30K version. Traditionally, thin inserts are recommended for light deposit removal, however, subgingival deposits are often times tenacious and very difficult to remove. Hu-Friedy’s Swivel XT is thin enough to clean subgingivally and interproximally, but also robust enough to efficiently and effectively remove moderate to tenacious calculus at lower power settings. The Swivel XT features a large-diameter grip that maximizes clinician comfort and enhances tactile sensitivity, plus the instrument’s durability is enhanced through a proprietary blend of stainless steel. I have only have to throw tips when the tip gets too short & have lost efficiency. The tips are durable and stay looking nice through out their life expectancy. I know I can count on the Hu-Friedy name to give me a product that never disappoints. Andrea Ryan ,07/17/2013 Comment Was this review helpful?
![]() The Swivel XT makes my work day easier!! I love the ease of rotation in the grasp, and the wider grasp, for that matter. It relaxes the grasp overall. Debridement efficiency is great, and it is great for moderate to heavy stain. I situations where stain and calculus are very tenacious, I would recommend a triple bend insert or beaver tail, followed by the Swivel XT and/or hand instrumentation. I highly recommend this product. Michelle Sensat, RDH, MS ,07/02/2013 Was this review helpful?

![]() Swivel love this tip mostly because of the handle you get a good grip and have a lot of control, the tip is slim enough to get in those tight contacts and remove what needs to be removed :) Georgia Jimenez-Cotie ,06/25/2013 Was this review helpful?
![]() The pros and cons of swivel tips Swivel inserts make getting to all the angle of the anterior two thirds of the mouth an easier proposition without lots of wrist manipulation. However, you cannot hold the handpiece further back to increase access to posteriors as the insert will turn independently without manual tension. Overall a good insert with a few limitations.
