I?ve been practicing dentistry for more than 20 years, but I still find it amazing what I?ve missed because I just didn?t have it! Before LED technology, dental lighting had not changed since I graduated from dental school. It has been a few months now since my DentalEZ EverLight LED operatory light was installed, and I can guarantee that this light is much different from what you?re currently using.

Previously, there was just a simple on/off switch on my operatory light, but now I have a wide variety of lighting choices. The EverLight has a sleek, small design that beautifully complements my office décor, and it?s constructed with a durable die-cast aluminum housing. These are just some of the reasons why I highly recommend the light to my colleagues.

Save Energy

Most operatory lights use halogen bulbs that reflect the light, creating harsh lighting. The EverLight uses a dozen LED lights for centralized, direct lighting. The LED bulbs are bright and cool; they are rated for more than 30,000 hours (10 times longer than halogen). The EverLight uses less than 35 watts of energy?70% less than halogen systems.

Impress Your Patients

The EverLight is positioned higher than traditional lights, and its rectangular illumination reduces shadowing in the mouth. This positioning helps keep the light out of the patient?s eyes. You can control the light?s intensity by simply pressing 1 of 3 buttons.

The light intensity ranges from 8000 to 20,000 Lux, but because the light is not coming from a single point, it is more balanced. The 100% true direct LED lighting is consistently cool, which means there are no noisy fans or reflectors. Lighting adjustments are easier for me and the chair experience is less stressful for patients.

Variety?The Spice of Lighting

The EverLight has 9 color temperature/ intensity settings, including focused, shadow-free, color-corrected lighting. There are 3 procedure settings. One setting simulates daylight (5300K) for shade matching; the second (4300K) is for routine restorative treatment. The third setting ensures composites don?t set prematurely.

Easy Practice Integration

It didn?t take me long to incorporate the EverLight into my practice. I had it installed on a ceiling mount (which took a little over an hour). Actually, there are 6 mounting options for the EverLight, so there is surely one to suit your office.

If you?re looking for a new operatory light, I recommend the EverLight. You may have to position it a little differently, but aside from that minor learning curve, I think it?s brighter, casts fewer shadows, and illuminates the oral cavity better than halogen lights.
