I chose to become a dental hygienist because I wanted to be involved in a profession where I could see the direct results of my work. Prior to becoming a hygienist, I worked in a call center for five years, and it just was not very rewarding.
As far as dental hygiene goes, I enjoy working face to face with people and learning about their lives. I have always loved keeping a beautiful smile too! When working with apprehensive patients, I do my best to make them feel comfortable.
For the past 12 years I have volunteered at Matthew 25, a non-profit medical and dental clinic in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Their patients have no insurance and always appreciate what I do for them.
