Pacific Dental Services and Smile Generation Raise $1.3 Million for Safe Drinking Water in Ethiopia

Pacific Dental Services (PDS) and Smile Generation, working with a non-profit organization called charity:water, kicked off the ?100 Wells for Ethiopia? program with the intent of raising $1 million to fund 100 wells for the people in Ethiopia, the most populated landlocked country in the world. The team members?employees, dentists, patients and vendors-actually raised more than $1.3 million, funding 131 wells and providing clean, safe drinking water to nearly 33,000 people in Tigray, Ethiopia.  ethiopia blog

According to Smile Generation, more than 50 million people live in Ethiopia without access to clean and safe drinking water. Since 2009, Smile Generation and their community of generous patients have supported the work of charity: water. To date, they have raised over $1.96 million to bring more than 65,000 people in 8 countries access to clean, safe drinking water.

The Cause Marketing Halo Awards recognize excellence in North American cause marketing campaigns. 2014 marks the 12th year that the Cause Marketing Forum will honor businesses and nonprofits with Halos for ?doing well by doing good.? A total of 18 category awards will be given out to programs judged the best cause marketing campaigns of 2013 at the 12th Annual Cause Marketing Forum Conference in Chicago on May 29, 2014.
