Published in the Journal of Structural Biology, and interviewed by DiscoveryNews, researchers from the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany) discovered that the surface of sharks? are teeth made up entirely of fluoroapatite.

All fluoride, no mercy.

 


In contrast, people use fluoride toothpaste to replace the softer hydroxyapatite to make teeth harder, and therefore less susceptible to cavities.

We?re gonna need a bigger boat.
