So you can get started with digital impressions for 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of CAD/CAM and no additional scan fees. If it works out and your future practice situation indicates, it can be upgraded to a full CAD/CAM later without wasting your investment in the impression only system.
Those restorations which do not lend themselves to CAD/CAM such as a bridge or an esthetically critical anterior unit can still be restored with a digital impression taken with the CEREC Bluecam. The impression is just sent to a lab instead of to a design computer and a milling device.
