Transparent hard plastic gingiva clearly shows the role of primary teeth in holding space and guiding permanent teeth into alignment. May also be used to discuss the importance of primary tooth care for proper chewing, speech development and alveolar bone growth. Each model features a black plastic hinge. Set comes complete with storage case. 5-year-old child study model has 20 erupted primary teeth. Permanent teeth to second molars are shown unerupted in early stages of development. 7-year-old child study model has a mixed dentition of 22 erupted teeth including first molars and permanent incisors. Remaining permanent teeth are visible in middle stages of development. 10-year-old child study model has a mixed dentition of 24 teeth including first molars and permanent incisors. Remaining permanent teeth back to second molars are visible in late stages of development. Adult dentition study model has 28 erupted permanent teeth.
