SS White offers its new polymer instruments for caries removal— SMARTBURS II. SMARTBURS II is a set of rotary cutting instruments constructed with reinforced polymer that selectively removes carious dentin, while leaving healthy dentin intact. This allows the clinician to remove deep decay while being less invasive.
SMARTBURS II instruments are designed to deform as they come across harder, healthy dentin. This protects the pulp from exposure and reduces post-operative sensitivity for the patient. The SMARTBURS II line of burs delivers single-patient use instruments, redesigned with new technology and priced lower than comparable burs.
These new instruments are available in sizes #4, #6 and #8 round bur for right angle latch handpieces. They are packaged in individual 10 packs, as well as a 25 instrument combination pack (5 each of #4; 10 each of #6 and #8). —Bob Alaburda
