XCP-QT disposable sensor holders are designed to hold intraoral digital x-ray sensors for radiographic imaging and are compatible with Rinn XCP and XCPORA positioning arms and rings. XCP-QT works with relax-fit sensor covers for easier loading and unloading and less risk of cord-pull.
Twelve dentists participated in this Dental Product Shopper evaluation of XCP-QT, rating such features as ease of loading the sensor, ease of capturing desired anatomy, and speed of changing indications.
Ease of Loading Sensor

Evaluator Feedback: An evaluator from Mill Creek, WA, who noted that XCP-QT is much better than similar sensor holders, said, ?The color coding of the system makes its use very uncomplicated even for the beginner.? This same evaluator said he would definitely purchase it in the future and recommend it to his colleagues. When asked about ease of loading the sensor, 92% of evaluators rated it as excellent or very good. An evaluator with 38 years of experience said, ?The simplicity of the system related to the necessary functions. The alignment was spot on and the x-rays very readable.?
Ease of Capturing Desired Anatomy
Evaluator Feedback: ?The team and I found it made the placement of the sensor easy without the concern that you would cone cut or miss the image,? said a Totowa, NJ, dentist who cited simplicity of the system and ease of alignment as his favorite features. This same evaluator added that he would definitely purchase XCP-QT in the future.
When asked what could be improved about the product, one evaluator with 3 years of experience, who rated ease of capturing desired anatomy as very good, said, ?The BWX holders take away to much tooth structure, especially when its taken vertically,? while another evaluator said, ?[The] anatomy of some patients will not allow for full utilization of the paralleling ability of the system.? Ease of capturing desired anatomy was rated as excellent or very good by all 12 evaluators.
Speed of Changing Indications

The white bite-tab attaches to perform anterior and posterior periapicals, while the red bite-tab is for both horizontal and vertical bitewings. This makes the XCP-QT sensor holder an ideal solution for quick and easy intraoral radiographs; the clinician simply slides it on and is ready to take an image.
Evaluator Feedback: An evaluator from New York City, who rated all features of XCP-QT as excellent said, ?Having fewer items makes it easier and faster to be able to take the desired radiograph. Now we don?t have a drawer full of pieces and have to go fishing every time to find the appropriately matched up items.? Seventy-five percent of the evaluators rated speed of changing indications as excellent or very good.
