When asked what they liked best about Kulzer's Venus Pearl nano-hybrid composite, 7 of 14 evaluators named ease of use. An evaluator with 8 years of experience described the material as "easy to shape and polished nicely."

Fourteen dentists participated in this Dental Product Shopper evaluation of Venus Pearl, rating such features as ease of use, sculptability, and shade adaptation.
Ease of Use
Manufacturer Description: Simple and easy to use, the malleability of Venus Pearl makes it well suited for anterior and posterior restorations. Venus Pearl is also fully compatible with commonly used bonding materials and techniques.
Evaluator Feedback: An evaluator with 5 years of experience who noted that Venus Pearl is much better than similar nano-hybrid composites, called the product "easy to use [and it] polished very nicely without a lot of work." This same evaluator said he would definitely purchase it in the future and recommend it to his colleagues. When asked about ease of use, 86% of evaluators rated it as excellent or very good. An evaluator from Ormond Beach, FL, said, "The delivery system was nice and easy to use."
Sculptability
Manufacturer Description: As a creamy, low-stick nano-hybrid universal composite, Venus Pearl delivers excellent handling performance, making dentists' work less stressful and more efficient. The soft consistency allows for brushing techniques in the anterior region, while offering excellent sculptability.
Evaluator Feedback: "I like the sculptability; the product stays where I put it and doesn't slump," said an Ohio dentist who cited ease of use and handling as his favorite features. This same evaluator added that, "I really like that the material doesn't set with ambient light."
When asked what could be improved about the product, one evaluator, who rated sculptability as very good, said, "It was tacky to carve if not cured," while another evaluator said, "stiffness was a bit too much." Sculptability was rated as excellent or very good by 12 evaluators.
Shade Adaptation to Margins and Tooth Color
Manufacturer Description: Venus Pearl composite offers excellent color adaptation because of the adapted translucency and the fine alignment of the refraction index of the fillers and the matrix. The material takes up the color of the surrounding hard tooth substance, leading to a harmonious, natural look. In addition, the ultrafine filling particles allow for a polish that is comparable to natural enamel.
Evaluator Feedback: An evaluator from Woodland Hills, CA, who rated all features of Venus Pearl as excellent, described shade adaptation as "amazing." He went on to say, "After final polish, it was very hard to find my finishing lines." Another evaluator said, "It provided a superior result
with a natural overall appearance." Ninety-three percent of the evaluators rated shade adaptation as excellent or very good.
Overall Satisfaction
Nine dentists called Venus Pearl much or somewhat better than similar products, with comments such as, "Excellent product," "Good color selection," and "Initial esthetics are very good." A dentist who has been in practice for 19 years said, "[Venus Pearl is a] perfect composite in every way and for every application."
