Environmental Impact
While traditional nitrile gloves take decades to degrade, Bio Nitrile promotes microbial activity that breaks down the material in landfills within 1-3 years, with more than 80% of the glove decomposing in 1.5 years, according to the manufacturer. To further reduce the carbon footprint, the compact, recycled box of 300 gloves reduces storage space and packaging waste.
Hoping to find products that “reduce environmental impact,” hygienist Misty McCans was pleased with the biodegradability of the Bio Nitrile gloves, and Dr. Partha Mukherji said, “I love the environmentally friendly aspect.” As a hygienist who seeks out dental supplies that are more environmentally friendly, Elizabeth Gottwein said, “Bio Nitrile gives me the peace of mind of knowing these gloves have a more favorable impact on our environment.” Calling Bio Nitrile “better than average gloves,” Dr. Carol Aiken appreciates the 300-glove count in each box, and Dr. Eric Winterton said these gloves promote “less waste, more comfort.”
Comfort & Fit
Offering high-quality comfort, strength, and durability, Dr. Benjamin Schwartz found that Bio Nitrile “adapts well to the hand, and provides a good fit with good tactile sensation and comfort.” Dr. Mukherji said, “I loved the sleek feel and fit and didn’t have to worry about dropping burs because of loose gloves.” Excited to try a more environmentally friendly product, hygienist Tara Cabral said she loves Cranberry gloves and “was not expecting something environmentally friendly to be so comfortable.”
Describing the gloves as “not too thin or thick, with a very comfortable, snug fit that’s not restricting or tight while working,” hygienist Dawn Fremont noted, “They are very nice gloves that have a nice smooth feel on your hands and are very flexible while working.” Dr. Teresa Destefano appreciates the “nice fit for my small hands,” and Gottwein shared, “The comfort factor of these gloves is great, which makes everything better.” Stating that “the medium felt more like a large,” Dr. Paul Olenyn found “the gloves were too roomy all around,” while Allbritten suggested, “If there was a little bit more stretch, I think they’d be perfect for everyone.”
Durability & Tactile Sensation
With optimal thickness, Bio Nitrile gloves are resistant to punctures while still providing dexterity, and textured fingertips provide excellent grip. “These gloves were really durable; I didn’t have to waste time changing torn gloves,” said Dr. Andrea Burgess. Finding them easy to don after hand washing, Dr. Destefano explained, “They’re not slippery and they don’t rip,” and McCans reported “fewer torn gloves.”
While Dr. Ira Newman suggested improved grip and durability, Dr. Winterton called the gloves “very comfortable with very little tearing” and said they perform well “when detailed tactile feeling is necessary.” Calling Bio Nitrile “very durable with the perfect thickness to still have fine perception,” Dr. Schwartz determined, “The gloves are easy to use and comfortable, with great tactile sensitivity, and they did not tear. What more can you ask for in a glove?”
