365 Days of Worry-Free Waterline Treatment
A reliable method that ensures hygienic dental waterlines, the Sterisil Straw eliminates time-consuming daily tablets and includes a built-in shock treatment
While water safety and compliance are likely built into every dental professional’s DNA, that’s never been the case for patients. But, throw a worldwide pandemic into the mix, and suddenly, everything changes. Today, patient safety is not only a concern for practitioners, but can also be a reason why patients return for office visits—or don’t.
A Full Year of Treatment
The Sterisil Straw from Solmetex takes the worry out of waterline treatment and ensures continual treatment for a full year—365 days—of worry-free compliance. A built-in shock treatment releases automatically to kill odor-causing bacteria, tinting the water blue for confirmation that the shock is working effectively.
For added practice efficiency, the Sterisil Straw system eliminates the daily task of dropping tablets into waterlines and ends the time-consuming work of purging and air drying lines.
Compatible with any size dental bottle, Sterisil Straw includes 2 versions, allowing practices to use either distilled water or municipal water and ensures a quantified EPA claim of less than or equal to 10 CFU/mL, which is 50 times lower than current guidelines.

Fast & Easy Installation
Installation is fast and easy. Sterisil Straw has a Luer Lock fitting, a design feature that with a simple push and twist, virtually eliminates faulty installs. The design of the tapered top reduces catching on the inside of the bottle during replacement, which helps eliminate pulling the tube off the barb. The Straw includes bottom relief gaps that are designed to prevent flow restriction in installations where the Straw might be too far down into the bottle.
Sterisil Straw is EPA-registered and can be used to comply with best management practices that prohibit cleaning and oxidizing with acidic cleaners, such as iodine and chlorine, which are substances that have been proved to release mercury into dental waste water. Nontoxic and noncorrosive, Sterisil Straw will not adversely affect composite bond strength.
