A great example of this is the new PreXion Explorer PRO, the first 3D CBCT imaging system with an integrated cephalometric x-ray arm that allows dental offices to save up to 2 feet of space. In just 30 seconds, dental teams only need to press a button to change to cephalometric x-ray capture mode: First, the built-in ceph arm rotates 45°, and then the rotation arm, chin rest, and flat panel detector extend.
Additionally, this all-in-one CBCT scanner offers both a small focal spot size at 0.3
mm, as well as a small voxel size to ensure clear, detailed image reproduction. It also offers several FOV size options—ranging from 5x5 cm to 15x16 cm—to customize imaging results for various cases and specialties. The 15x16-cm FOV is enabled by the industry's largest flat panel detector that can scan in one pass—decreasing distortion and scatter for better image quality and reduced patient radiation exposure. Speaking of exposure, the PreXion Explorer PRO’s HD and Endo CT modes feature very low radiation dosage and quick scan times of 20 seconds or less to improve patient comfort.
