3M Filtek solutions collectively are the industry’s only restoratives with TRUE nanotechnology, which means the materials are formulated with nano-sized filler particles, eliminating the grinding process. As a result, the nanoparticles are more uniform in size, paving the way for the high filler loading needed for strong and wearresistant restorations with exceptional polish retention.
Versatility, High Polishability
3M Filtek Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative provides superior esthetic results and is available in 36 shades and 4 opacities. It is recommended for Class I, II, III, IV, and V restorations, and also has a flowable counterpart. Its exceptional ease of use allows for natural, tooth-like restorations with either a multipleor single-opacity layering technique.
“This is a very versatile product for regular, everyday fillings or anterior esthetic work, and it has a nice finish that can be polished to a high gloss,” said Dr. Robles.

3M Filtek Universal Restorative is available in 8 shades, as well as Extra White and Pink Opaquer, and also is recommended for all 5 classes of restorations. With 3M’s unique NaturalMatch technology, this simple, easy-to-use restorative covers 19 VITA classical and bleach shades and allows them to blend in with surrounding teeth, creating a natural appearance.
3M Filtek One Bulk Fill Restorative, also available in a flowable formula, is recommended for a Class I up to 4 mm; a Class II up to 5 mm; and Class III, IV, and V restorations. Available in 5 shades and with excellent handling, it features low-stress monomer technology for reduced shrinkage and stress, and Smart Contrast Ratio Management for increased opacity without reducing the depth of cure.
“Bulk Fill Flowable can be used as a thin fi rst layer at the bottom of restorations to achieve the best adaptation internally while at the same time benefi ting from the chemistry designed to compensate for stress or shrinkage, creating a solid foundation,” he said.
