Dr. Vineet Sidhu shares how Rondeau Seminars' continuing education curriculum and functional approach to orthodontics made her lifelong career goal a reality
From her earliest days of dental school, Dr. Vineet Sidhu was fascinated by orthodontics and always wanted to learn more and put it into practice. But there were never enough hours in the day to devote to ortho education, especially after she moved to Ottawa, Ontario, to launch her career. Those early years were spent building a strictly "bread and butter" practice.
After enrolling in Rondeau Seminars, she began to see her dream take shape. She studied functional orthodontics in depth, and her fascination with occlusion and orthodontics grew. The treatment integrated well with her general dentistry, and the practice saw a steady increase in cases.
Founded by Brock Rondeau, IBO, DABCP, DACSDD, DABCDSM, Rondeau Seminars offers a functional approach to orthodontics that focuses on arch development and mandibular positioning instead of the extraction-based methods traditionally used to align teeth. A variety of online and in-person courses address airway health and breathing, facial esthetics, TMJ function, and sleep quality.
Functional Orthodontic Mastery Program
A new addition to Rondeau Seminars is a case-based Functional Orthodontic Mastery Program with a streamlined framework for busy schedules.
“Rondeau Seminars gave me a stepwise approach to implement ortho in a clinical setting, while still having time for my patients and practice,” Dr. Sidhu shared. “Dr. Rondeau brings a passion to his courses and presents the concepts in a structured, simplified manner. The continued support, especially from the staff members, goes above and beyond. I’ve never seen a program with manuals like those from Rondeau Seminars; they’re comprehensive, detailed, easy to understand, and well illustrated.
“Functional aspects such as swallowing and breathing have a strong impact on the jaw, occlusion, and the bite," she added. "If we’re missing the functional component, we’re missing the most important part of orthodontics. Rondeau Seminars got me out of the box of just teeth and into a higher understanding of the face—how it relates to TMJ and the joints, and how breathing affects the whole body. Without Rondeau Seminars, I might still have practiced orthodontics, but I certainly would not be where I am today.”
