Upgraded with exciting features, 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive and 3M RelyX Universal Resin Cement work together to simplify inventory and restorative workflows
Just as Madonna envisioned nearly 40 years ago, we’re living in a material world. New and Improved Features
Launched at the end of 2020, 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive builds on the decade-long success of its predecessor by offering a host of new and improved features—including dentin-like radiopacity, enhanced bonding to dentin and restorative materials, and the ability to infiltrate and seal caries-affected dentin.
“We discovered that the system we had long held as the gold standard was now actually silver, and that this was the new gold,” Augusto A. Robles, DDS, MS, DMD, said of Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive. “Before, you would see a 30% drop in bond strength with affected dentin, but 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive has similar bond strength to both sound- and caries-affected dentin."
The 3M RelyX family of resin cements has evolved, too, with the advent of 3M RelyX Universal Resin Cement, which delivers ideal self-adhesion to zirconia, metal, enamel, and dentin. A newly designed self-sealing syringe and Micro Mixing Tip work together to produce 80% less cement waste and 50% less plastic waste per application compared to standard automix syringes.
A Fully Aligned System
Perhaps the most impressive way that these two materials have evolved is through their built-in synergy. When RelyX Universal Resin Cement is used in tandem with 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive, the cement acts as an adhesive resin cement—eliminating the need for multiple resin cements, primers, and adhesives, and simplifying restorative workflows.
