The new S series implant system offers long-term stability and a strong, single prosthetic connection across multiple implant diameters

Simplicity isn’t always associated with implant dentistry, but the S series—Nobel Biocare’s newest implant system—pairs a predictable solution with a streamlined workflow. Leveraging the success of the company’s iconic NobelActive implant system, the S series reduces multiunit abutment sizes by 65% by leveraging a single prosthetic connection across all implant diameters and for all indications.

Fewer Components, Faster Adoption

This single connection is key to the S series' innovative design, and one reason why Dr. Giacomo Fabbri has quickly adopted the new system into his practice. A longtime user of the NobelActive system, Dr. Fabbri shared several benefits of the S series.

“A big advantage of the S series is that, practically speaking, you are using only 1 narrow connection for all implant diameters, so it’s much easier to manage,” he said. “The single platform optimizes the clinical workflow in my practice.”

With just 1 connection for all diameters, planning is easier, the number of components is reduced, and workflows become more consistent.

Another advantage is that the S system enhances platform switching, allowing Dr. Fabbri to use smaller abutments to preserve crestal bone and improve long-term stability and esthetic outcomes.

“This, for me, is a great advantage because it means I can work with a platform switching concept of at least 0.4 mm, which offers huge biological benefits,” Dr. Fabbri said.

When it comes to durability, the S series delivers. Made from Nobel Biocare’s cold-worked Grade 4 pure titanium for enhanced tensile strength, the implant’s wider design increases collar wall thickness for added resilience.

Additionally, a tight connection minimizes the risk of bacterial leakage, supporting maintenance of marginal bone, while a precision fit reduces microgaps and peri-implantitis risk.

Lower Complexity, Higher Simplicity

Having placed dozens of Nobel Biocare implants over the course of his career, Dr. Fabbri is not at all surprised at his 100% success rate with the new S series implant system.

“It’s difficult to get poor results with this process because I’m working with a system that follows the design of the proven NobelActive series,” he added. “The S series is a nice, new tool that can improve the quality and long-term stability of our restorations, especially thanks to the unique biological advantages it offers."
