Bisco: A Trio of Reliable Restoratives
Over the past 40 years, dentists everywhere have relied on BISCO restorative solutions to simplify and elevate their direct restorative procedures
Having reliable products on hand is one of the most valuable investments a dentist can make. Because direct restorations are the bread and butter of the
general practice, the materials used to restore small and large areas of decay should bring confidence, predictability, and compatibility to the procedure. Dr. Abraham Jaskiel uses BISCO products in his Miami, FL, practice daily and has found them to be highly dependable.
Creating a Durable Bond
ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL is a tried-and-true universal bonding agent that stems from decades of adhesive research at BISCO. The one-bottle solution primes, etches, and adheres to all direct and indirect restorations and can be used with all resin cements with no activator required. Its compatibility with light-, dual-, and self-cured materials makes it versatile and invaluable for dental practices, as does its power to reduce postop sensitivity.
“It’s my bonding go-to,” said Dr. Jaskiel, who has used ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL for years with virtually no complaints of postop
sensitivity. “I use it for 100% of all fillings, as well as for crowns. It’s something I can rely on for multiple procedures.”
Protecting the Pulp with TheraCal LC
Dr. Jaskiel has also had success with TheraCal LC, a resin-modified calcium silicate-filled liner that can be used for direct and indirect pulp capping and as a protective liner under composites, cements, and other bases. This unique material can be used in place of glass ionomers and acts as a barrier to protect and insulate the dental pulpal complex. Thanks to its precise placement via syringe delivery, it can be easily injected even in deep cavity preparations.
A Base Designed for Deep Restorations
A dual-curing, self-adhesive base and liner that does not require a bonding agent, TheraBase features a hydrophilic resin matrix that allows for a high degree of calcium release. Additionally, it forms a chemical bond to the tooth structure and generates an alkaline pH. Its dual-curing ability ensures that TheraBase will cure even in deep restorations where light will not reach.
“I recently treated a patient who had two prior fillings done and was experiencing postop sensitivity. After replacing the old base and using TheraBase, this patient has not reported any problems, including postop sensitivity,” shared Dr. Hasan Khajah. “In fact, none of my patients reported any problems with TheraBase."
