Reciproc Blue
The universal Reciproc Blue is a single-use, 1-file reciprocating system that can expertly navigate complex canals, simplify complex endo procedures, and streamline the ever-expanding number of instruments that crowd up many armamentariums.
“Traditionally, multiple files were needed to shape a canal, which increased procedure time,” shared Joseph Bernier, DDS, in Houston, TX. “With Reciproc Blue, we can use just 1 fi le for most cases, which streamlines the procedure and reduces the steps involved, resulting in shortened treatment times and allowing us to see more patients in a given timeframe.”
Reciproc Blue instruments offer efficient cutting, allowing shaping without an initial glide path in most cases. The NiTi files undergo an innovative heat treatment, which increases flexibility and resistance to cyclic fatigue. The single-use files are packaged in sterile blisters, reducing the risk of cross-contamination.
With ISO color-coded silicone stoppers and radiopaque calibration rings, Reciproc Blue offers working lengths of 21 mm, 25 mm, and 31 mm. An 11-mm nickel-plated shaft optimizes molar access. Featuring an S-shaped cross-section and noncutting tips, Reciproc Blue alternates between clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, with a 360º rotation completed in several reciprocating movements.
“The reciprocating motion reduces the time needed for cleaning and shaping and allows for better debris removal and more thorough irrigation, which contributes to cleaner canals,” Dr. Bernier said. “The special heat treatment reduces the risk of transportation or ledging, while also minimizing the risk of fractures.”
X-Smart Pro+
Reciproc Blue is powered by the X-Smart Pro+, a portable motor that drives the reciprocating motion of Reciproc Blue. X-Smart Pro+ features a proprietary sensorless system for 360º speed and torque feedback and delivers up to 7.5 Ncm and 3,000 rpm. An integrated apex locator with Dynamic Accuracy technology allows direct length measurement during active shaping with an automatic auto-reverse function to keep the file on target.
With an easy-to-use touchscreen interface and upgradable firmware, X-Smart Pro+ also features an integrated LED on a mini-contra angle head for great visibility and access.
