Nobel Biocare is committed to evidence-based innovation, giving clinicians the tools they need to streamline esthetic digital workflows and provide optimal patient care. Through its Science First Journal, the company highlights the latest in esthetic implantology and digital dentistry, sharing tips, techniques, and real-world case studies.

A recent issue focuses on rehabilitating the esthetic zone. Dr. Francesco Mintrone covers Nobel Biocare’s digital workflow in his article, which leverages the NobelActive and Nobel Biocare N1 implant systems. Dr. Giacomo Fabbri illustrates how surface technologies like Xeal promote robust soft-tissue attachment and immune compatibility, along with Prof. Tomas Albrektsson’s work confirming the superior survival rates of anodized surfaces.

The goal of the Science First Journal, Nobel Biocare President Stefan Nilsson said, is to help clinicians “see how esthetic zone rehabilitation can elevate your practice without compromising implant survival or tissue health. This is what we call ‘owning the zone.’”

The Esthetic Digital Workflow

Part of “owning the zone” is implementing Nobel Biocare’s esthetic digital workflow, which starts with the AI-powered DTX Studio Clinic software for data collection and treatment planning. Once a surgical plan is created, clinicians can move forward with static or dynamic guided surgery to precisely place their implants. Digital impressions are captured and sent to the lab. Cases can be provisionalized via 3D printing with the SprintRay MIDAS to optimize esthetics during healing and provide patients with an individualized implant crown at the time of surgery.

Dr. Navneet Arora, who uses the Nobel Biocare N1 implant system and the N1 Base abutment, which can be placed the day of surgery, said the process takes less than an hour.

“Integrating Nobel Biocare’s esthetic digital workflow has been a huge boost for our practice and it gives us a significant competitive advantage.”

The workflow delivers predictability and efficiency at every step, Dr. Fabbri said.

“What truly sets Nobel Biocare’s esthetic digital workflow apart is end-to-end integration,” he added. “Combining proven implant systems with the precision of CAD/CAM and 3D printing brings together diagnostics, treatment planning, and execution into a single, streamlined process.”
