Full-contour zirconia restorations in a single session

What would you think about providing your patients a crown in one visit instead of two? What would your patients think about it?

Imagine if you could offer your patients restorations in a single visit with all the conventional materials. What opportunities would that open up for your practice? Dentsply Sirona CAD/CAM’s CEREC SpeedFire is the smallest and fastest sintering furnace on the market and can sinter a crown in 10 to 15 minutes. The advantages of full-contour zirconia can thus also be used for chairside treatment.

“It has allowed me to add zirconia to my options of blocks to mill out same day for my patients. Office efficiency has elevated and patient satisfaction has significantly improved,” said Kirsten Andrews, DDS, a visiting faculty member for cerecdoctors.com.

CEREC SpeedFire combines the processes of sintering and glazing in one compact, user-friendly device. Induction technology ensures a perfectly homogeneous temperature distribution and unparalleled short sintering and firing times. The sintering times are determined by the dry milling of the presintered material. “Living in a rural area, my patients can travel up to an hour to see me. Therefore, multiple visits become less desirable, and they aren't necessary when I can offer them a new crown in a single visit. That has definitely increased case acceptance,” Dr. Andrews said. “Patients want instant gratification, and CEREC SpeedFire helps deliver that experience.”

CEREC SpeedFire can process CEREC Zirconia as well as CEREC Zirconia meso, CELTRA DUO, and all CEREC Blocs. Furthermore, the furnace is authorized to process IPS.emax CAD (Ivoclar Vivadent) and VITA Suprinity (VITA Zahnfabrik). “I see the technology eventually limiting the need for a dental lab. I project that I will be using CEREC to design and fabricate full dentures,” Dr. Andrews added.
