At a time when dental practices are balancing rising costs, staffing pressures, and the need for greater efficiency, DENTALEZ is expanding its portfolio with solutions designed to drive greater efficiencies. The company’s latest introductions, including two new additions to the Star handpiece lineup and the Forest 5400 dental chair package, reflect a focus on value-driven engineering, integration, and durability.

Star E900: Intelligence Built In

On the handpiece side, DENTALEZ has introduced a fully integrated electric solution with the Star E900 Electric Handpiece System. Designed as an all-in-one platform, the system has 3 factory presets for endodontic and prep procedures, consolidating multiple functions into a single system to reduce chair time and enhance operatory efficiency.

Michelle Gray, senior product manager, said the E900 reimagines what a handpiece could be. “This system brings together intelligent features, uncompromising safety, and powerful, consistent performance to help clinicians work smarter, not harder—every procedure, every day,” she noted.

The E900 features built-in RFID technology across the handpiece, motor, and tubing, enabling tracking through the Aeras Intel web app. Practices can create up to 10 user profiles, tracking usage hours by provider. This helps to optimize procedure efficiency, balance workloads, and increase chair turns.

The 1:5 attachment also includes an integrated temperature sensor that alerts the clinician and automatically shuts down the motor if excessive heat is detected, adding a layer of safety for both patient and provider. At 15% lighter than competitive* attachments, the system is designed to reduce fatigue during long procedures and full clinical days.

Star 440: Air-Driven Precision

For clinicians who prefer air-driven performance, the new Star 440 high-speed handpiece features Secure Grip technology—a patented texture designed for enhanced stability and control. The ergonomic handpiece is optimized for a weightless feel and to minimize pinch-grip fatigue.

With a smaller head for greater access to posterior teeth, the handpiece delivers 27 watts of cutting power and allows in-office turbine replacement in under 10 minutes, minimizing downtime.

Forest 5400: Everyday Excellence

The Forest 5400 builds on the engineering foundation of the premium 6400 platform but strips away select esthetic upgrades to deliver a streamlined package. Assembled in the U.S. at DENTALEZ’s Alabama facility, the 5400 shortens lead times while maintaining premium construction.

“This is our everyday excellence chair—our workhorse,” Senior Product Manager Chris Flick said. “We wanted to come up with a value package that still has the premium construction of our 6400 chair. We just removed some of the cosmetic options so we could offer that value package.” The result is a practical, clinician-first system that includes the chair, light, and delivery unit in a simplified package for easier ordering and installation. Flick noted that while a fully customized premium chair may ship in 55 days, the 5400 is engineered to ship in as little as two days—an important consideration for new builds and room expansions.

Ergonomics are central to the design. The 5400 rises to an industry-leading 36.5 inches and lowers to 17 inches. “More dentists want the option to do standing dentistry at least part of the time they’re working,” Flick explained. “That extra height makes a difference for taller clinicians, and they’re going to be comfortable working even at the highest height.”

With a lift capacity of up to 650 pounds (525-pound patient load), the chair accommodates a broad patient population while maintaining stability and durability.

"The 5400 is ideal for anyone looking for a really good value, but also high quality and craftsmanship that’s going to last them forever," Flick said.

Together, the Forest 5400 and Star handpieces reflect a broader strategy from DENTALEZ: simplify the operatory, enhance efficiency, and integrate intelligence into everyday clinical workflows.
