Dentatus: Quality Solutions for Dentistry, and the World

The Swedish company centers its commitment to dental professionals, their patients, and the environment by pioneering high-quality, sustainable products

Founded in 1930, Dentatus has developed, manufactured, and supplied unique dental solutions for over 90 years. Since its inception, the company has pioneered numerous groundbreaking products including precision articulators—introduced in 1944 and still in use today—and the first prefabricated Classic Metal post, which has become an industry standard.

Dentatus maintains an office in its home country of Sweden, but the company’s footprint and reputation span the globe. In 1988, renowned inventor and businessman Bernard Weissman acquired Dentatus AB, and shortly thereafter formed Dentatus USA, a division designed to serve as global headquarters for the company and provide direct service to the North and South American markets. Under the late Weissman’s guidance, Dentatus delivered many breakthrough innovations to the global dental community, including the first narrow-bodied implant. Over the years, Dentatus has expanded its reach, partnering with a network of over 100 distribution channels. These efforts represent an ongoing company mission to connect customers with quality products everywhere in the world.

Dentatus believes that true quality means creating solutions that are not only good for dentistry, but also for the environment. As Weissman’s daughter and current Dentatus president, Nita Weissman, explains, “We are extremely conscious about the way we treat our natural resources and environment. We strive to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible.” To develop and distribute sustainable, high-quality products without compromise—this is the essence of Dentatus.

Profin Reciprocating Systemdentatus profin

For shaping, contouring, and polishing natural dentition and cosmetic restorations with ease and flexibility, Dentatus’ Profin is a clinician’s system of choice. Profin is composed of contraangle handpieces (E-Type and Doriot) that support the flat Lamineer diamond tips, which move in a reciprocating axial direction (1.2- mm stroke). Users can either set the tips to rotate freely and follow tooth contours naturally or lock radially for direct and specifi c modifi cations. Thanks to a thin design with 1-sided diamond coating, the tips also provide optimal access to hard-to-reach areas while promoting added safety and control. Lamineer tips are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and grits, making Profi n perfect for everything from routine hygiene and periodontal care to orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and CAD/CAM restorations. Wolfram Tungsten, plastic, and wooden tips also are available for finishing and polishing.

Post Systemspost sytems

Luscent Anchors—”the original translucent post”—check every box for esthetic, long-lasting restorations. These posts are made of unidirectional fi berglass rods encapsulated in a strong resin matrix that transmits light and ensures complete cure of core material. Luscent also reflects natural hues and eliminates shadowing through composites at the margin, making them ideal for highly esthetic work.

The Surtex Classic Post family, the global standard for post systems, will now include Surtex Sterile Posts, which are presterilized and pre-abraded, saving the dental team time while ensuring compliance in infection control protocols. Packaged in individual blister packs of 5 posts— titanium-plated or gold-plated—Surtex Sterile Posts are easy to organize and color-coded for quick reference. Like the Surtex Classic Posts, Surtex Sterile Posts offer dentists consistently reliable solutions for post-and-core buildups with highquality, prefabricated posts that are both dependable and economical.

Anew Narrow-Body Implantanew implant

Dentatus’ Anew represents a highly effective, efficient, and affordable option for patients of all ages who have insuffi cient bone structure, as well as those in search of minimally invasive implant treatment. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration for long-term use, validated for permanent use, and supported by more than 20 years of clinical research, Anew is the only narrow-body implant with a screw-retained prosthetic system.

Anew’s design evolved from Dentatus’ original MTI Implants to meet the rapidly changing needs of the profession. The result is a system that can be easily monitored, altered, and adapted to a permanent restoration thanks to a nonhygroscopic screw cap.

Several features—such as external screw retention and platform, a platform switch, machined collar, and surfacetreated thread—work to minimize the incidence of peri-implantitis. Procedures with Anew are generally quick and often flapless. The prosthetic components are designed for immediate loading of chairside restorations.

Dentatus Matrix System

Keeping the inventor’s original design, Nyström Matrix Retainers with Dentatus Matrix Bands offer dentists a complete system for everyday reliability. Models MEC-N1 and N2 are mirror images of each other and can be applied lingually or buccally for firm adaptation of the matrix band to the tooth. Nyström retainers also are available in a universal straight aperture that is simply designed and easy to handle. Both styles feature adjustment screws that are tightened after the matrix band is adapted to promote secure retention and ease of use. Dentatus Matrix Bands are manufactured from the highest-quality stainless steel and are made in 2 thicknesses, 0.04 and 0.05 mm, both of which have perfectly smooth edges. Special series Class V matrix bands are especially useful in re-creating gingival margins of Class V restorations, where they permit careful inspection of the gingival margin, provide a dry field of operation, and help rebuild natural contour.
