Dentrix Smart Image 2.0
Automating and streamlining practice management, Dentrix Smart Image links clinical and financial processes into one efficient workflow
Sometimes, the status quo is the best way to go. But as the dental industry evolves with new and cutting-edge technologies, the systems and software that practices rely on need to keep up. A digital imaging workflow complete with the latest innovative features can reduce the potential for human error during critical procedures and transform the way dental teams work.
The recently introduced Dentrix Smart Image 2.0 from Henry Schein One debuts a new feature that automatically attaches diagnostic images and their associated CDT codes to insurance claims and posts them to the ledger, recare records, and progress notes. Included in Dentrix G7, Smart Image 2.0 is designed to improve clinical efficiencies and increase practice revenue by combining clinical and financial processes into one efficient workflow.
“It’s a much better system for linking images into electronic claims,” said Dr. Matthew Schloss, who has been a Dentrix user for 2 decades. Prior to using Dentrix Smart Image, the Hamilton Square, NJ, clinician and his staff needed to complete a multistep process that required exporting clinical data out of his imaging software, importing it into the Dentrix document center, and then, finally attaching the image files to insurance claims. “Now, with Dentrix Smart Image, I just open the claim and link the image attachments automatically without having to open another program,” he explained. “It saves me a couple of steps and, as a result, quite a bit of time.”

Connection Is Key
The science behind Dentrix Smart Image comes from a seamless bridge to several leading dental imaging vendors, including the most recent partner integration with DEXIS. This means that practices using DEXIS Platinum intraoral sensors, for example, benefit from having DEXIS software tightly woven into their Dentrix practice management workflows. Even if a practice uses multiple vendors to acquire diagnostic imaging, using Smart Image 2.0, they can obtain and view the data from a single screen with their Dentrix platform.
“I used to have to go between different software and search for images in different locations," explained Dr. Schloss. "Now, when I open a patient's chart with Smart Image, all of the images are right there in front of me, which is great.”
By bridging the imaging technology gap, clinicians can more effectively diagnose and communicate with patients about treatment plans, thus providing better, faster care.
“Dentrix is at the forefront of integrating new products and mechanisms to help make dentists’ lives easier,” Dr. Schloss concluded.
