Bosworth Classics

The Bosworth Classics line of denture reline materials has been providing patients and clinicians with long-lasting denture comfort and stability for decades

With the denture world changing so quickly, sometimes it helps to have a reliable classic. The Bosworth Classics product line has been around for decades, and for good reason. Its 5 reliable denture reline materials—DentuSil, New Truliner, Original Truliner, Softone, and Trusoft—have advanced properties that allow for easy handling, secure placement, and enhanced patient comfort.

“The majority of these products have spanned the test of time,” said Kim Dunlap, a former lab technician and chairside aide, and a current sales representative at Keystone Industries.

Keystone acquired the dental material company Harry J. Bosworth in 2014. With this partnership, the 2 companies have not only been able to combine more than 200 years in the dental manufacturing industry— they’ve also been able to maintain the exceptional quality of legacy products like the Bosworth Classics.

Consistency Is Key

5 Highly Dependable Denture Materials Immediate dentures can be painful at first. To accelerate patient healing, Softone resilient denture acrylic treatment rehabilitates damaged tissue before a new denture rebase or final reline.

“Softone is a tissue conditioner that massages and rehabilitates damaged tissue, so it should be used prior to relining with Trusoft to help patients adjust to wearing a denture,” Dunlap said. She also added that the material can also be used for functional impressions. “Taking an impression will allow the technician to see how much resorption there is and where their attachments are.”

Dunlap has also used DentuSil, a soft silicone relining material for patients who have a sensitivity to monomer. Its silicone base increases its stability and holds the material in place.

“A lot of reline materials have trouble with staying in the denture; they want to peel out,” she said. “I’ve never had that problem with DentuSil. It has great properties of adhering to the denture. Also, DentuSil is a nonporous material, so it doesn’t trap stains or odors.” She also praised the New and Original Truliner for their consistency as reline materials, and noted how Trusoft works against pressure pain and tender ridges.

Since Dunlap has used the products herself, she recommends them to clinicians with total confidence. “They're great. If I were still working in a clinical setting, I would be using them," she said.
