While 95% of cases in my practice are full-arch rehabilitations, no 2 patients are alike. Each case brings its own challenges, expectations, and clinical nuances. What is consistent, however, is the workflow—and it begins and ends with a CBCT scan.

A CBCT image is a necessity for us to start the digital workflow, and then post surgery, we take another scan to ensure our implants are placed in the right position. With the OP 3D LX, we have access to multiple FOVs—we can scan a small, 5×5-cm area and then go as high as 15×20 cm without having to stitch data together, and we can scout the image before taking a full scan. It also has short scan times, improved clarity and noise reduction, and a small footprint.

From there, the data journey continues, and patients are involved in every step of treatment. As soon as the CBCT is taken, patients sit with us and see their scan in the DTX Studio Clinic software. After that, we take the intraoral scan with the Imprevo, and they see how easily that data comes to life. Once we add intraoral photos, we have everything we need to do a proper smile design and treatment plan.

From Diagnosis to Delivery

The average dental office has about 8 different software platforms. What DTX Studio Clinic does is put all that data into 1 ecosystem where everyone has access to it, so we can properly diagnose, plan, and treat to give patients the best prognosis.

The AI-driven features built into the DTX Studio Clinic software streamline the workflow even further. The software aligns the jaws for us, finds landmarks, maps the nerves, and plans the implant placement. We can even use AI to detect caries on our digital x-rays and use those findings in our case presentations. Just today we did 7 full arches, and it’s all because of our DEXIS equipment and digital workflow.
